Son of a former Governor of Plateau State, Mr Nanle Dariye, has called for concerted efforts amongst Nigerians to halt the growing insecurity in the country.

Mr Nanle said the security of lives and property must not be left in the hands of the nation’s security agencies and personnel alone, saying that individuals and groups must work in unison with the government and security agencies to secure the Nation, particularly the youths.

He disclosed this while speaking at the burial ceremony of his late paternal grandparents, Pa Dariye and Na Kaka Saratu Defwan, held on Saturday March 16, 2024, at Horoop, Meshere- west , Bokkoss local Government Area of Plateau State.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of dignitaries from within and outside Plateau State, notable amongst who are; Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr Caleb Mutfwang, the immediate past Governor of plateau state, Barr. Simon Lalong, Hon. Solomon Dalung, the Minister for Youths and Sports during the first four years of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, the Immediate past Minister for Women affairs, Pauline Tallen, Chief of Defense Staff, Christopher Musa who was represented at the ceremony.

It would be recall that, Pa Dariye Defwan, the deceased until his death in the den of his adoptors, was once Kidnapped but was released after the payment of an undisclosed amount as ransom was paid, but was unable to survive the second attempt on his life in 2020 by the men of the underworld.

Mr Nanle Dariye further dismissed claims and speculations in some quarters that his grandfather’s adoption and later assassination must have been politically motivated due to perceived political differences in the state, pointing out that such claim does not reflect the believes of the deceased family.

He stressed that, it was the effects of the rising insecurity that has become the norms in contemporary Nigerian.

He expressed profound gratitude to friends, well-wisher and concerned Nigerians within and outside the State who came to pay their last respect to his grandparents, the Dariye Defwan’s Patriarch and Matriarch, adding that their supports and words of consolations served as a source of encouragement and strength to the entire Dariyes.
