Minister Lokpobiri Commends APC’s Peaceful Convention, Pledges Support for Tinubu’s Renewed Hope By Chris Mark

The Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri Ph.D, has commended the peaceful conduct of the 8th National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing it as a demonstration of the party’s unity, maturity, and shared commitment to national progress.

The convention, which produced a brand new National Working Committee (NWC) led by Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda as National Chairman, was widely acknowledged for its orderly proceedings and the adoption of the consensus approach in electing party officials.

This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen by Nneamaka Okafor Special Adviser, Media and Communications
to the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil)

According to Sen. Lokpobiri, “we have spoken harmoniously and in one voice with a common ground for the progress of our great nation, as the successful convention further reinforces the APC’s position as a party built on dialogue, inclusiveness, and collective resolve.” He noted that the consensus form of election adopted by the party reflects internal cohesion and strengthens confidence in the APC’s democratic culture and leadership direction.

Sen. Lokpobiri congratulated Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda and other newly elected members of the National Working Committee on their emergence, noting that their election places on them the enormous responsibility of guiding the party at a crucial period in the nation’s political journey. “The new leadership of the NWC carries the collective expectation of members and supporters to consolidate unity within the party and strengthen its structures ahead of the elections,” he stated.

He further affirmed that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has continued to deliver growth, development, and sustainability in the transformation of Nigeria, adding that party members must remain committed to securing the President’s re-election to consolidate the gains of the #RenewedHope agenda. “We must continue to work together to ensure that the Renewed Hope vision translates into lasting prosperity, stability, and opportunities for all Nigerians,” the Minister added.
