OONI COMMENDS TINUBU, AS APC CAMPAIGN COUNCIL TARGETS 2M VOTES IN OSUN

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has commended President Bola Tinubu and the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for their contributions to the Yoruba race, as the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The monarch gave the commendation when he received members of the APC Presidential Campaign Council at his palace, Ile Oodua, in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

The delegation, led by the Director-General of the campaign council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, visited the palace to seek the monarch’s royal blessings and support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.

According to a statement by the Ooni’s Director of Media and Public Affairs, Otunba Moses Olafare, the delegation included serving and former governors who are members of the council.

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, who serves as the state coordinator of the campaign council, was represented by his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi.

Speaking during the visit, Yari said the council was committed to mobilising widespread support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

He expressed confidence in the council’s ability to secure the President’s re-election, promising sustained engagement with stakeholders and grassroots supporters across the country.

The former Zamfara State governor also commended Adeleke for his commitment to the council’s activities in Osun, expressing optimism about the state’s contribution to Tinubu’s electoral fortunes.

Yari disclosed that the council was targeting two million votes for the President in Osun State during the 2027 election.

He said the council would work with its members and other stakeholders to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and ensure that the state delivered substantial support for Tinubu.

Also speaking, Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, expressed confidence that his state would deliver votes for the President in the forthcoming election.

Aiyedatiwa said governors had been tasked with taking responsibility for political mobilisation in their respective states, adding that Ondo remained committed to supporting Tinubu’s re-election bid.

In his remarks, the Ooni commended Tinubu and the First Lady for what he described as their contributions to the Yoruba people and their efforts to advance the interests of the Oduduwa race.

The monarch expressed appreciation for their commitment to the development and promotion of Yoruba interests.

Describing Tinubu as the father of the nation, the Ooni underscored the importance of leadership that promotes national unity, development and the collective interests of Nigerians.
