Ugele, an ancient community in Akure North local government has bestowed a chieftaincy title of Asiwaju Ugele on Barrister (Dr) Olumuyiwa Adu, a chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC in Ondo state.

Receiving the chieftancy title on Saturday, 18th November, 2023 from the traditional ruler of the community, Olugele of Ugele, Oba Osanlade Ayodele Dada, described the recepient, Dr. Adu, popularly referred to as ‘Cubana,’ a worthy ambassador with an uncommon intellectual deposits, who through his countless humanitarian interventions and remarkable leadership and by these qualities became well deserving of the honour.

The Oil and Gas magnate, according to his media council who was caught unaware by the prestigious honour, as he was just on a courtesy call to the traditional ruler when he was decorated with the title.

Expressing his appreciation to the Olugele of Ugele and the entire people of the community, the well respected Adu commended Olugele for his developmental strides, wisdom and committee to the grassroots .

Dr. Adu pledged to always identify with the peaceful and accommodating Ugele populace, whom he also observed were well endowed with enormous culture and rich tradition of hard work, resilience, valour besides their loyalty.

A release by Adu Media Council also noted that the new Asiwaju of Ugele, Dr. Adu, identified his ancestral linkage with the people and restated his commitment to their welfare at all times
