Video – 2027: BTO Coalition targets one million votes for Tinubu in Ondo

…launches grassroots mobilisation, voter education campaign

By Roseline Okakah

The BTO Coalition Platform for PBAT 2027 has declared its determination to deliver one million votes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Ondo State as it launched a major grassroots mobilisation and voter education campaign ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The coalition declared its target at its Ondo State Grand Rally held in Ikare-Akoko on Friday, August 28, 2026, with the theme, “Grassroots Mobilisation, Voters’ Education and Enlightenment.”

Speaking at the rally, the National President of the coalition, Otunba Dr. Abubakar Adeshina Omoluabi, urged residents of Ondo State to participate actively in the electoral process and support the re-election of President Tinubu.

Omoluabi said the rally was organised to educate citizens about their voting rights and encourage greater participation in the 2027 presidential election.

He said the coalition was particularly concerned about voter turnout in Ondo State and had therefore embarked on the mobilisation campaign to increase electoral participation and secure one million votes for Tinubu.

According to him, the turnout of voters in Ondo State during the last election was not encouraging, despite the large number of registered voters in the state.

“Due to the issue that we had in the last election, we discovered that the turnout of Ondo State people in the last election was not encouraging.

“We have 1.9 million people that registered to vote in Ondo State. We discovered that only 300,000 people voted in the election.

“This means that this time around, we want to impact, enlighten and educate people about the upcoming election so that Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo can deliver one million votes for PBAT in 2027,” he said.

Omoluabi also highlighted what he described as the achievements of the Tinubu administration in areas including the Nigeria Education Loan Fund, NELFUND, economic reforms, revenue mobilisation, investment, infrastructure, agriculture, social intervention and national security.

He particularly commended the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, whom he credited with reforms in passport administration and other services under the Ministry of Interior.

According to him, the ministry has expanded its online services to cover passports, ECOWAS Travel Certificates, Temporary Work Permits, Combined Expatriate Residence Permit and Aliens Card, CERPAC, visas, citizenship administration, business permits and expatriate quota management.

He said the adoption of technology and data-driven systems by the ministry had contributed to modernising service delivery and strengthening border management.

Omoluabi urged residents to exercise their civic responsibilities, stressing the need for voters to understand their rights, make informed choices and protect their votes during elections.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Akoko North-East Local Government Area, Hon. Mutiu Muhammed, represented by Comrade Agun Abiola, called on residents to support Tinubu’s re-election.

He also praised Tunji-Ojo for what he described as reforms introduced under the Ministry of Interior and urged the people of Ondo State to come out en masse to vote for the President in 2027.

The National Vice President of the coalition, Molayemi Olajumoke, said the rally was aimed at sensitising residents about their civic responsibilities ahead of the election.

She urged voters to cast their ballots, defend their votes and participate responsibly in the democratic process.

Similarly, the coalition’s coordinator in Akoko North-West Local Government Area, Engineer Mayowa Jubril, said the group had been conducting grassroots mobilisation across wards and polling units ahead of the 2027 election.

Jubril said the coalition’s voter education campaign was targeted at literate, semi-literate and non-literate residents, particularly women and people in rural communities.

He urged voters not to be intimidated during elections and advised them to remain at their polling units to protect their votes.

The Akoko South-East coordinator, Damiro Ebenezer, said the group was supporting Tinubu’s re-election based on what he described as the administration’s achievements in infrastructure, humanitarian interventions and the economy.

The coalition’s coordinator in Ose Local Government Area, Owoeye Olorunsemilogo, also expressed confidence in Tinubu’s chances of securing a second term, while expressing optimism about the political future of Tunji-Ojo in Ondo State.

Representing the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, in Akoko, Emidun Simon urged eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and participate actively in the 2027 elections.

He called on residents to prepare to vote for President Tinubu and support Tunji-Ojo.

The rally brought together supporters and coordinators from all the 18 local government areas of Ondo State, with speakers repeatedly emphasising grassroots mobilisation, voter education and increased electoral participation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
