2 Undergraduates of EKSU Drowned In Ikun Dam

Two undergraduates of the Ekiti State University, EKSU, have reportedly lost their lives in Ikun-Ekiti while swimming in the popular Ikun Dam.

The said students, Oluwatobiloba Osho and Oladimeji Victor, until their disappearance, were students of the department of Theatre Arts of the university

According to witnesses, the students joined their colleagues in company of their supervisor for a research work and rehearsal at Igogo Ekiti in the Ero LCDA.

However, tragedy struck after their supervisor had concluded the assignment and left Igogo with the team, but the two students were said to have reportedly stayed back and headed straight to the dam for sight seeing.

Since then, the two students have been missing.

Some members of the community suspected that they must have drowned in the dam.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu confirmed that the students were actually missing, but said the police could not authoritatively confirm whether they were drowned.

He disclosed that the police rescue team and fishermen have begun searching for the missing students in the dam and around the area.
