Tragedy Strikes National Assembly as Honorable Ekene Adams Passes Away

The somber halls of the Nigerian National Assembly were filled with sorrow once again as news of the passing of House of Representatives member, Honorable Ekene Adams, spread through the chambers.

Hon. Adams, who represented Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency in Kaduna State, met his untimely demise on July 16, prompting the Red Chamber to adjourn plenary until Wednesday as a mark of respect for his memory.

The motion for adjournment was put forth by Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and unanimously supported by Minority Leader Abba Morro, showcasing the unity in grief that has enveloped the nation’s lawmakers.

Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, expressed his condolences to the House of Representatives, the family of the deceased lawmaker, his constituents, as well as the government and people of Kaduna, as the country mourns the loss of a dedicated public servant.

Hon. Ekene Adams, who chaired the House Committee on Sports, leaves behind a legacy of service and commitment to the betterment of his constituency and the nation as a whole.

His passing marks the second tragedy to befall the House of Representatives in just one week, underscoring the fragility of life and the profound impact of each individual within the realm of governance.
