President Tinubu lauds Gov. Idris for his efforts on peace and stability in Kebbi State

By JAMIL GULMA Birnin Kebbi

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for his unwavering efforts in promoting sustainable peace, stability, and development across the state.

The commendation was conveyed by the President’s Chief of Staff, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, who represented him at the Northern Traditional Rulers Council (NTRC) General Assembly held on Tuesday at the Presidential Banquet Hall, Birnin Kebbi.

The theme of the meeting was “Strengthening Community Collaboration for Lasting Peace in Northern Nigeria.”

President Tinubu expressed appreciation to Gov. Idris for his steadfast collaboration with the Federal Government, noting that the Governor has been consistent in providing updates and engaging with the Presidency on matters concerning peace and security in Kebbi State.

“The President has asked me to extend his gratitude to Gov. Nasir Idris for the significant role he has been playing in ensuring peace and stability in Kebbi State.

‘ He appreciates the Governor’s cooperation and constant communication with the Federal Government and assures that the Federal Government will continue to partner with Kebbi State to achieve lasting peace,” the President stated.

President Tinubu emphasized that peace remains fundamental to national progress, stressing that development cannot thrive in an atmosphere of conflict.

He, however, cautioned against politicizing issues of peace and security, urging all stakeholders to unite for the common good.

“We must all speak with one voice because violence knows no ethnicity, tribe, religion, or region.

“Those who play politics with peace should stop. Even if we disagree on everything else, let us agree on one thing ,the need for lasting peace in our nation,” he appealed.
