No Perfect Election Anywhere In The World Says, Hon.Adejare

… Calls For Review, Fine-tune Of Electoral Act

A member of the House of representatives, Hon (Dr)Babatunde Adejare has said that there was no perfect election anywhere in the world.
He noted that Independent National Electoral Commission did well by all standard.

Hon. Adejare who stated this in an interview with the journalists in Abuja said the last series of elections witnessed improvements compared to what we used to have in the past.

The Lagos State federal legislator who is representing Agege Federal Constituency in the green chamber said there were improvements in the process and method of achieving perfect Elections in the country especially in the area of technology

According to Hon. Adejare “the INEC personal did their best. One or two or few places people tried to influence what was happening but that’s just infinitesimal, it small”

“They were little fracas here and there but that’s not enough to say that we don’t have elections or to remove the legality of this election. It is free and fair elections that we have had. It’s better than the elections we used to have”.

“Sincerely speaking, we need to review our Electoral Act very well. There are should be a conscious review of what happened in past elections and where the law stans and where we can go further on that”.

“It should be done that way if not we would not do the needful. There should be proper review of the Law even on the part of INEC as an implementor of the Electoral Act”.

“They should review what has happened and what they need to do with the law to make a better law. And we as politicians even the House itself should carry out a review of what happened and see how we can better it”.

“When all these suggestions came, the House can now collate it and see how they will move on, and improve and amend the law as such”.
