Nigeria@63: Rep Wale Ahmed Calls For Strengthening of Security Infrastructures, NYSC Scheme.

…Urges Prospective NYSC Members To Stop Influencing Their Postings.

A member of the Nigerian House of Representatives, Hon. Wale Ahmed representing Agege federal constituency of Lagos State has called on federal government to strengthen critical institutions such as security infrastructures and the National Youth Service Corps ( NYSC).

Hon. Ahmed made the call on Thursday while reflecting on Nigeria 63th Independence Anniversary during the plenary session of the green chamber in Abuja.

The Lagos federal legislator urged prospective National Youth Service Corp members to stop influencing their postings and go to diverse parts of the country to serve and experience life.

Hon Ahmed noted that the purpose of the scheme is primarily to inculcate in Nigerian Youths the spirit of selfless service to the community, and to emphasize the spirit of oneness and brotherhood of all Nigerians, irrespective of cultural or social background.

He however called on governments at all levels to ensure adequate security, provision of basic social amenities and increase the monthly stipends and allowance of the NYSC serving corps members to attract them to be willing to serve their father land wherever they are posted within Nigeria.
