Paul Alifa Omata

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Igbetokun, PhD, NPM, has appointed AIG Paul Alifa Omata as the new Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 16 Headquarters, Yenagoa.

The appointment of the new AIG is sequel to the retirement of the former AIG Paul Ojeka Odema.

This was contained in a press statement issued to newsmen,signed, by the Zonal Police Public Relation Officer,ZPPRO, CSP Ikwo Kevin Lafieghe, Anipr.

AIG Paul Alifa Omata , until his posting to the zone, was the Commissioner of Police, K9 section Department of Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

According to the statement, AIG Paul Alifa Omata  is an indigene of Dekina LGA of Kogi State, was commissioned into the Nigeria Police Force on the 3rd March 1990 as a cadet ASP. He is a graduate of Geography from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

“The new AIG is a pragmatic and seasoned officer of repute, who has attended several courses and workshops, and has equally served meritoriously at various Departments within the Force, notable amongst them are; DPO ‘A’ Division Lokoja, Area Commander, Area ‘L’ Lagos State, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, Kwara State etc.”

The Zonal headquarters solicited the co-operation support of members of the public, especially, the people of Bayelsa and Rivers States to enable the AIG bring his vast wealth of experience to bear.
