FOB FORMOSO Holds Second Quarter Route March to Boost Combat Readiness in Brass LGA

By Chris Mark

The Forward Operating Base, FOB FORMOSO, has conducted its Second Quarter Route March through Egweama and Liama Communities in Brass Local Government Area to sustain operational preparedness and physical fitness in line with the Nigerian Navy’s 2026 Schedule of Events.

The exercise, which held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, recorded a strong turnout of officers, ratings, National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, members serving at the Base, and host community security personnel.

The participation of NYSC members and community security personnel underscored the existing synergy between FOB FORMOSO and its host communities.

Speaking after the exercise, the Commanding Officer, FOB FORMOSO, Captain S.K. Haruna, commended the commitment and turnout of participants.

He said route marches remain a critical component of military training, designed to enhance endurance, maintain combat readiness, and ensure personnel are prepared to respond swiftly to emerging operational challenges.

Captain Haruna also appreciated the NYSC members and community security personnel for their support, noting that their presence “added colour and significance to the event” and was a testament to the cordial relationship between the Base and host communities.

The exercise ended in high spirits with three hearty cheers in honour of the Commanding Officer, marking the successful conclusion of the Second Quarter Route March.
