FG Affirms Security Cooperation With International Partners to Combat Insecurity Challenges

‎Federal Government has affirmed that Nigeria is maintaining structured security cooperation with international partners, including the United States, to combat terrorism and violent extremism, following recent precision airstrikes against terrorist targets in the North West.

In a statement from the Ministry Of Foreign Affairs the Nigerian Government said the collaboration operates within established bilateral frameworks and international best practices, covering intelligence sharing, strategic coordination, and other forms of lawful support.

The statement stressed that the partnership is guided by mutual respect for national sovereignty and a shared commitment to regional and global security.

‎The Federal Government reiterated that all counter-terrorism operations prioritise the protection of civilian lives, national unity, and the rights and dignity of citizens, regardless of faith or ethnicity.

‎It added that attacks on any community—Christian, Muslim, or otherwise—remain unacceptable and pose a serious threat to national stability and international peace.

‎The government further noted that it will continue working with its partners through diplomatic and security channels to dismantle terrorist networks, disrupt their financing and logistics, curb cross-border threats, and strengthen Nigeria’s domestic security and intelligence capacity.
