Embrace Aiyedatiwa’s empowerment blueprint, Alhaja Gidado urges Muslim women, students

Iya Adinni of Akure Kingdom, Alhaja Hon. F. I. Gidado, has passionately appealed to Muslim women and female students to align themselves with the 10-point blueprint for women empowerment unveiled by Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

She made the appeal on Tuesday in Akure, during a special gathering of the Muslim Ladies Circle of Nigeria. MULCON

Alhaja Gidado described the blueprint as a golden opportunity for women to rise, thrive, and actively contribute to societal development.

She noted that the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr. (Mrs.) Seun Bosede Osamaye, is not only a dependable team leader but also a woman with a listening ear who understands the peculiar needs of women and is ready to support their aspirations.

According to her, women and young female students must take advantage of the enabling environment created by the Aiyedatiwa-led administration by acquiring skills and building their capacity to become self-reliant and productive.

Alhaja Gidado commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for giving premium attention to the development and empowerment of women in his administration.

She remarked that, unlike in the past, women now have a visible voice and stronger presence in the political and economic spaces of the state, thanks to the governor’s inclusive leadership style.

Turning her focus to the home front, the Iya Adinni expressed deep concern over the growing moral decay in society.

She lamented the erosion of values among the younger generation and the rising incidents of delinquency, drug abuse, and disregard for authority and tradition.

According to her, mothers have a sacred responsibility to take charge of their homes and ensure the proper upbringing of their children.

She stressed that instilling discipline, modesty, respect, and fear of God must begin from the cradle, as no nation can rise above the moral foundation laid within its families.

“Our society is bleeding morally,” she declared. “It is time for mothers to wake up from slumber and take control.

“The family is the first school, and every woman is the first teacher. We must raise children who will not only succeed in life but also lead with integrity and righteousness.”

She urged women to go beyond seeking financial empowerment and also embrace their spiritual and moral duties as custodians of values and character, noting that empowered women with strong morals are the foundation for a more peaceful, productive, and prosperous society.

Alhaja Gidado concluded by encouraging Muslim women to support one another, participate actively in community-building efforts, and be torchbearers of positive change in both public and private spheres.
