DAY 3
Our Students Are Back In School
GONE: ASUU Strike, Students Dropping Out
DONE: NELFUND Student Loan, N20k Monthly Allowance
By Original Sola Ajisafe.

I remember when schools would shut for 6 months? I remember when parents had to choose between food and school fees? I remember students dropping out and taking to crimes?
As a student of Lagos State University, in 1999 under OBJ, I spent almost 9 months at home due to ASUU strike. My set took our final year exams within three days including Sunday. We almost missed the Nigerian Law School Admission in 2000.
All that is GONE.
President Tinubu chose a different path. Instead of fighting ASUU every year, he embraced them. He funded the students directly. NELFUND is here. Interest-free loans. N20,000 monthly allowance for upkeep. Hon. Ife Ehindero, a BTO protégé is the Chairman House Committee on NELFUND. Ondo State is blessed.
Today, a child in FUTA, AAUA, or OSUSTECH, LASU can apply from his phone and get support. No more wasted sessions. No more abandoned dreams. No more excuse for not going to school.
This is what leadership looks like. This is what governance is all about. You don’t manage crisis. You solve it.
BTO pushed for youth inclusion in the Renewed Hope template because he understands. As a person trained by a widow, he could feel the pains of every Nigerian parent.
So, everyday he reminds Ife on his mandate to ensure NELFUND works for the Nigerian people. Also, he knows if you empower the student in the farm camp, you secure the future of Ondo State.
When a government funds brains, a nation secures its future.
The classrooms are open. Crime is reduced. The hope is back. The reform is painful but it is working.
Progress is possible. The rest will be addressed. Elofokanbale
