Fuel Ques And Subsidy Fraud Are Gone

Oloroogun Sola Ajisafe,

Day 2

Before you join those who say Asiwaju will not return as President of Nigeria to complete the constitutionally allowed second term just because you felt some pains, have you asked yourself those who deliberately caused those pains?

If you have not, let me explain to you or take you on a familiar journey. They are the profiteers, the speculators and the promoters of fuel subsidy and those involved in selling and buying dollars for non economic reasons.

Imagine Tinubu did not take these firm stands and looked away just like OBJ, Yar’adua, Jonathan and Buhari all before him? Imagine he wanted to be as popular as they were and carry on with the assumption that others after him would come and do it? Have you ever thought of what would happen to Nigeria and it’s people?

Let me ask you this. When last were you at a fuel station to que for fuel despite the fact that the price has gone up? When last did your cousins, drivers or staff slept on fuel stations or fought at fuel stations just because he wanted to buy fuel? Oh! You felt it just disapperead without someone doing something about it? Did you take a listen to global reports on international media on the eneonomic effects of the various wars happening everywhere and the effect of the closing of the Strait of Homus? Are you not aware that Western nations that you always quote are hurting badly?

Or you only listen to the politically biased or uninformed analysis of Rufai Oseni of Obaigbena’s AriseTV?

Tinubu has DONE many things which makes him deserve a second term. What about just driving into a fuel station and it’s available or you could buy fuel from any petrol station and not the ones you were consigned to? To you, these are just small issues that do not matter? They do matter. They are issues of strict and careful economic planning which must have consequences. You cannot eat your cake and also have it.
January to December, we lived in fuel queues. We were borrowing billions to pay for subsidy that only a few were eating.

In essence, absence of fuel ques,
borrowing for fuel subsidy, printing of the naira as if you print handbills for christian crusades are GONE and would not return if we keep faith with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

What steps did Tinubu take along these lines? Introduction of CNG vehicles, vehicle import levies reduction, decentralized power sector, more money to the States to assist the people, autonomy to local governments except that many of the governors are saboteurs.

President Tinubu pulled the plug. The money that was going to fraudsters is now going to infrastructure, health, and education. DONE!

But he didn’t stop there. He reduced vehicle import levies so transport costs can come down. Ask yourself if the same Nigerians who benefitted allow it. He decentralized the power sector so States like Ondo can now generate and distribute their own electricity. How many States keyed in to that window of opportunity?

What was consuming us is now building us. But we need Nigerians and State governors to do the right things.

For Ondo’s 9,000 farm camps, this is everything. Cheaper transport for cocoa and food. Power for cold rooms and processing. Roads that can be fixed because the money is no longer wasted.

I am aware and can testify that just like Mr President as the Head of the Table is directing affairs inside the Villa, BTO’s is taking note and his model is clear at the Ministry of Interiors which are; remove the bottleneck, then go to the people. It’s called the ” Direct Impact Model”.

The queues are gone. The fraud is gone. The light is coming on.
Progress is possible. The rest will be addressed._
