4 Soldiers Feared Dead And Several Others Injured As Driver Rams Car Into Troops In Lagos

Four soldiers from Myoung Barracks in Yaba, Lagos State, were reportedly killed on Friday morning after a vehicle, allegedly driven by a drunk driver, rammed into them during their monthly road jogging exercise outside the barracks in the early hours of Friday.
The tragic incident, which occurred in the early hours of the day, has left the military community in distress.
One of the soldiers at the scene described the aftermath, saying, “There’s blood everywhere. I was spared because I was at the back.”
The soldier, whose name is withheld, recounted that the car carried three young men suspected to be internet fraudsters, commonly referred to as “Yahoo Boys”, who were reportedly speeding before running into the troop.
He further explained that the crash took place near the Myoung Barracks Army Sports Camp. Following the incident, one of the occupants fled the scene, while the remaining two were apprehended and severely beaten by onlookers. Their vehicle was also vandalized in the chaos that ensued.
Another eye witness explained that the young men attempted to flee the scene after the accident, but were apprehended.
Four of the soldiers were confirmed dead, while several others sustains various degrees of injury and have been taken to the hospital for treatment.
