Acquire more knowledge, ODSG urges junior workers
… As OSCCA matriculate 51 students
Civil Service lower cadre officers on level seven have been encouraged to further their education to reach the peak of their career as 51 students matriculated at the Ondo state Co-operative College, Akure OSCCA.
The Ondo state Head of Service , Mr Bayo Philips gave the advice at the matriculation ceremony of the college of cooperative held in Akure on Thursday.
Philips who was represented at the occasion by Permanent Secretary, Service Matters , Mr Femi Ayodele said the students can get to the peak of their carreer because they have a lot of job opportunities awaiting them.
He disclosed that the Co-operative societies have a lot of crises in management because of lack of professionals in the career .
Philips who appreciated government, noted that the school was reopened seven years after the closure because of the chaos identified in the cooperative societies which showed the importance of the school.
The outgoing permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of commerce and cooperative services, Mrs. funmilayo Akinola called on level seven cadre officers who have remained stagnant on their level to avail themselves the opportunity to acquire further education at the college.
The college, she said offers courses that are of commercial values
“Our teaching approach is practical, equipping our students with relevant skills to excel in their chosen career in cooperative management.
She added that graduates of the college cannot join the army of the job seekers in the nation because they will be professionals and pioneers of cooperative business.
The incoming Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Toyin Esther Oni, in a remark, urged the matriculating students to be prepared to learn and be determined to excel because job is awaiting them.
She implored the school management to improve and turn out quality professionals as she expressed government continuous support for optimum performance in the school.
Representative of the ministry of Education , Mrs Olufolake Mapayi encouraged students on a good starting and ensure completion of their students.
The State Cooperative Federation, represented by the Vice President, Prince Sola Obanla appreciated the state government for reopening and sustaining the college to further address the crises in the cooperative society.
Earliers, in a welcome speech, the Director of Cooperative Services, Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperative Services, My Braiye Williams appreciated government for using the platform for poverty alleviation, wealth creation and self-help through the relentless efforts of the supervising ministry for sustainable Cooperative movement in the state.
