NCDMB To Host Nwabuikwu’s New Book At 5th Reading Session

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) will host renowned writer and public policy analyst, Mr. Paul C. Nwabuikwu, at the fifth edition of its Book Reading Programme.
The event is scheduled for Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
Nwabuikwu will feature his newly published book, The Pain and the Promise: Insights and Fragments on Nigeria and People, Public and Personal.
The book is a collection of writings spanning over three decades. It x-rays Nigeria’s people, politics, economy, public policy and society.
A statement by the General Manager, Corporate Communications Division of NCDMB, Obinna Ezeobi, PhD, said the programme is part of the Board’s drive to promote literacy, critical thinking and knowledge exchange.
According to him, the series provides a platform for intellectual discourse and reinforces NCDMB’s commitment to human capital development beyond the oil and gas sector.
He said participants will engage the author on issues raised in the book, which connects national events and public policies with the experiences of ordinary Nigerians.
Nwabuikwu’s career, which began in journalism in 1988, has seen him work with leading media organisations including Newswatch, THISDAY and The Guardian.
He also served as Special Assistant on Communications to Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala during her two tenures as Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy.
Ezeobi noted that the book has been commended by prominent leaders and scholars. At its public presentation in Abuja, Dr. Okonjo-Iweala, former Aviation Minister, Osita Chidoka, and Vice Chancellor of Baze University, Prof. Abiodun Adeniyi, described it as an important contribution to national discourse.
The fifth edition will bring together professionals, students, industry stakeholders and members of the public.
He recalled that previous editions featured HRM King Bubaraye Dakolo, author of Pirates of the Gulf, and former NIMASA Director-General, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, who discussed his book, Leading in a Storm.
