40-Year-Old Man Dies in Guest House; Police Hold 3 for Questioning.

By Chris Mark

A 40-year-old mobile phone repairer, identified only as Felix, has died after he was allegedly found naked in a guest house in the Ekeki area of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital.

The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday morning at a facility along Azikoro Road, according to eyewitness accounts.

A cleaner at the guest house raised the alarm after finding Felix’s lifeless body in a room, residents said. The woman who was said to have been with him before the incident had reportedly left the premises before the body was discovered, and her whereabouts are currently unknown.

Sources at the scene said sachets of alcoholic drinks were found on a bedside table in the room before police cordoned off the area.

Three persons were taken into custody in connection with the incident: the guest house owner, the cleaner, and the deceased’s brother, Dennis. Dennis, who also repairs phones at the Seriake Dickson Shopping Complex, was later released after explaining he received his brother’s phone from a pay-charge operator while searching for him.

Police are yet to issue an official statement as investigations continue.

Traders at the Shopping Complex where Felix worked gathered to mourn after news spread. Some residents described the deceased as someone known for his relationships with women.

They also recalled a controversy last year when he was allegedly found in a compromising situation with a married woman.

A female trader in the area used the incident to warn men against the use of performance-enhancing substances before sex.

The case remains under investigation by the Bayelsa State Police Command.
