UCC Mourns Loss of Veteran Journalist, Comrade Isaac Ombe

The United Correspondents Chapel (UCC) of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bayelsa State Council, has expressed deep sadness over the tragic death of veteran journalist, Comrade Isaac Ombe, who lost his life in a ghastly motor accident over the weekend.

In a statement, jointly signed by its Chairman, Comrade Ekaunkumo Amgbare and Secretary, Chris Mark, The UCC described Ombe as a journalist par excellence, who worked with exemplary dedication and distinction.

The statement noted that the late journalist would be remembered for his distinguished career, which spanned reputable media outfits, including The Nation, National Mirror, The Comet, News Express, The Verbatim and, until his sudden demise, the Press Secretary to the Managing Director of Niger Delta Basin Development Authority (NDBDA).

The UCC statement further described Ombe as a passionate media practitioner who carried out his job with integrity, truth, and professionalism.

The organization extended its heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family, Bayelsa NUJ, friends and Bayelsa state in general.

The UCC prayed for the Almighty God to grant the Ombe family the courage and strength to bear the irreparable loss, and for the soul of the departed colleague to find repose in the bosom of the Lord.
