Farewell to a Royal Icon: Prince Kayode Adegoke (SunnyKay), bows out
With profound sorrow and in total submission to the will of Almighty God, the Lafogido Ruling House of Ile-Ife announces the passing unto eternal glory of their distinguished son, Prince Kayode Sunday Adegoke (SunnyKay).
A cherished father, grandfather, and an accomplished entrepreneur, he was the Chairman/Chief Executive of SunnyKay Motors and Managing Director of Exclusive Events, Akure, Ondo State.
Prince Adegoke departed this life after a brief illness on the afternoon of May 15 in Akure, Ondo State.
Born on July 26, 1959, into the Adagba Royal Compound of the Lafogido Ruling House of Ile-Ife, he was the son of Prince Macaulay Adetokunbo Adegoke and Olori Esther Omobowale Adegoke.
He began his educational journey at St. John’s Primary School, Oke-Atan, Ile-Ife, and proceeded to Oduduwa College, Ile-Ife, where he studied from 1973 to 1978.
He later attended Technical College, Oyo, before moving on to the Federal Technical College, Akoka, Lagos.
A consummate human rights activist, Prince Adegoke once served as Chairman of the Radio, Television, and Theatre Workers Union at NTA Akure, and was also an Ex-Officio of the union at the national level.
He was known for his generosity and stood out as a notable philanthropist.
Prince Sunday Kayode Adegoke retired from the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Akure in 1992 to pursue private business ventures.
He was married to Olori Funmilayo Adegoke, and their union is blessed with children, grandchildren, and a peaceful home.
May God grant his family, friends at NTA Akure, residents of the Court of Appeal Estate Akure, and members of OCOSA ’78 the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
